Hi Carrboro Ultimate.

Well, the weather has not been cooperating with our tournament...

Just to remind everyone- last wedensday's games were cancelled, so last wednesday's teams will play tonight. Tonight's previously scheduled teams are set to play wednesday- 11/15 (provided we have no rain), with the final now scheduled for Monday 11/20.

As well, be sure to come out and cheer on the semi finals... or just meet us at Goldie's Grille for the:

The schedule for the tournament will depend on the outcome of tonight's rain make-up games- I'll give the game time/night assignments tomorrow morning based on the following schedule, where winner assumes lower seed number and loser is eliminated (please do not assume you know when you're playing- please check to see when the assignments are posted on the web):

PLAYOFFS!  6:30  8:30
Wed Nov 1  Black v Gray (winner = "a")  Royal v Gold (winner = "b")
Mon Nov 6  Maroon v Red (winner = "c")  White v Navy(winner = "d")
Wed Nov 8  Green vs "a" (winner = "e")  Lt. Blue vs "b" (winner = "f")
Mon Nov 13  "e" v "d" (winner = "1")  "f" v "c" (winner = "1")
Wed Nov 15  "1" v "2" (winner = "WINNER!")

Games for Nov1 – 13: these 8 pre-finals games are to 15, with one time out per half and a floater for each team. Time cap comes on at 8:15 and 10:00, respectively. Add 2 to higher score (not to exceed 15) at end of point in progress; eliminate time outs. When cap set, it's first team to that score, not win by 2. Game cap comes on at 8:25 and 10:10, signaling end of game when point in progress is over. If game tied at end of point, then play tie-breaker.

Nov 15’s game is to 17, with 2 time outs per half for each team. No time cap (but game hard capped at 19, if neither team is ahead by 2 after reaching 17) unless game continues to 10:00, then game cap would dictate completion of point to end game, at which point game is over unless both teams are tied, requiring additional tie-breaking point to be played out.)

For the finals, I we'll allow each team to arrive at 6:45, then warm up till 7:15, when the game should begin. This’ll add a little more pomp and circumstance to the affair.

A thousand thanks to Xian for his help in creating this schedule,

Evie

hi.

since we only have one rain date to make up... i've encouraged rec adn parks to start our tourney next week- wedensday... rather than waiting the two weeks. Please pass on this info to your teams.

make up date next monday

tourney start: next wednesday

differences: games will upa style... longer with all the rules- so lets talk about that. I'm passing on my little rules book to charles and mike so that we'll all be set- make sure your teams know that we'll be playing longer games (score and time) with only two games on each of the tourney nights... single elim.

From Evie 8/18:

Greetings 2006 Carrboro Fall Ultimate Players!

You should soon be hearing from your captains, in the meantime, please see the attached team rosters to see which team you were drafted to (again this year we used a semi-blind system to help ensure equal and fair teams).

2006 is our biggest Carrboro Fall League ever with 138 registered players and 10 teams.

The schedule will be Monday and Wednesday nights with games at 6:30, 7:45 and 9.

Games will last 1 hour and 10 minutes (cap) and we'll play to 11 (no time on the half, but two time outs per team). League rules will come via your captain.

I'll have the posted schedule for you to view by the end of the weekend, as well as field usage guidelines until regular season play begins.

Regular season play begins Wednesday September 6th.

Thanks for signing up- if i haven't already, I look forward to meeting each of you! I hope we all have a great season in 2006!
