Description: 2003 was a great year for disc design, as it saw the introduction of this never-before-seen Carrboro Ultimate disc from Carrboro's very own resident master artist, Dano Parrish.
On the obverse is a hand-drawn pattern stating "Carrboro Ultimate" in bold bubble letters. This is followed by a reference to the core values of Carrboro Ultimate, "spirit, intensity, fun". Below this motto is a representation of a team of seven ultimate players, one of them showing the classic layout pose so common to maneuvers seen regularly on the field of play in Carrboro. Subtly adding great value to these discs is an all-encompassing representation of the great god of ultimate frisbee holding all of Carrboro Ultimate in the arms.
The design of the reverse is left as a blank slate, easily allowing for the addition of the owner's name or other information using sharpie marker or any similar permanent drawing implement.
These 2003 Carrboro Ultimate discs were available with either black ink or green ink (shown) printed on white plastic discs. Originally sold for $10 for one, or $8/ea for members*, they are now only available from collectors.
So expect to pay at least two- to three-times original retail price. (I hear Andrew Ross may still have one or two, in their original plastic wrapper. Make an offer...)
